Rawlson King est devenu le tout premier conseiller municipal noir d\u2019Ottawa en avril 2019, \u00e0 l\u2019issue d\u2019une \u00e9lection partielle historique qui s\u2019est tenue dans le Quartier 13 \u2013 Rideau-Rockcliffe. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9\u00e9lu en octobre 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pendant le mandant du Conseil de 2018-2022, M. King a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 agent de liaison du Conseil pour les initiatives de relations ethnoculturelles et de lutte contre le racisme et a \u00e9t\u00e9 responsable de la cr\u00e9ation du bureau du Secr\u00e9tariat de la lutte contre le racisme et de la Strat\u00e9gie de lutte contre le racisme de la Ville. Au cours de ce mandat, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sident du Sous-comit\u00e9 du patrimoine b\u00e2ti et a \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 au Comit\u00e9 permanent de la protection de l\u2019environnement, de l\u2019eau et de la gestion des d\u00e9chets et au Sous-comit\u00e9 de la technologie de l’information. Il a \u00e9galement si\u00e9g\u00e9 au conseil d’administration du Service de police d’Ottawa, de Pr\u00e9vention du crime Ottawa, de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de logement communautaire d’Ottawa, de la Biblioth\u00e8que publique d’Ottawa, de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 d\u2019am\u00e9nagement des terrains communautaires d\u2019Ottawa et de la ZAC du quartier Vanier.<\/span><\/p>\n

Avant son \u00e9lection \u00e0 des fonctions publiques, il \u00e9tait entrepreneur et professionnel de la communication comptant plus de 20 ans d’exp\u00e9rience dans le secteur priv\u00e9 en \u00e9tudes de march\u00e9 dans les hautes technologies.<\/span><\/p>\n
