Imaginez une ville o\u00f9 vous pouvez vous rendre o\u00f9 vous voulez, et \u00e0 l’heure, en utilisant un large \u00e9ventail de services de transport. Dans de nombreuses villes du monde, les v\u00e9los en libre-service constituent un \u00e9l\u00e9ment important de cette combinaison, mais c’est un \u00e9l\u00e9ment qui manque aujourd’hui dans la r\u00e9gion d’Ottawa-Gatineau. C’est pourquoi EnviroCentre<\/a> et le Fonds d’action climatique d’Ottawa ont d\u00e9sir\u00e9 relancer la conversation sur les v\u00e9los en libre-service dans la r\u00e9gion.<\/p>\n

La r\u00e9ussite des syst\u00e8mes de v\u00e9los en libre-service est un excellent exemple de l’approche multi-solutions au c\u0153ur de la strat\u00e9gie d’investissement et de partenariat de FACO. Et bien s\u00fbr, cela inclut des r\u00e9ductions directes et indirectes des \u00e9missions de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre qui sont \u00e0 l’origine des changements climatiques.<\/p>\n

Les personnes \u00e0 qui nous avons parl\u00e9 \u00e0 travers la r\u00e9gion d\u2019Ottawa-Gatineau voyaient le v\u00e9lo en libre-service comme une partie essentielle d’un syst\u00e8me de transport abordable, \u00e9quitable, qui fonctionne 24\/7 <\/strong>et qui se connecte facilement aux services de transport collectif et de covoiturage existants<\/strong>, donnant \u00e0 une diversit\u00e9 de quartiers un meilleur acc\u00e8s aux services de tous les jours<\/strong>. Ils consid\u00e8rent le syst\u00e8me de v\u00e9los en libre-service comme un \u00e9l\u00e9ment essentiel de la formule gagnante pour respecter les engagements d’Ottawa-Gatineau en mati\u00e8re de logements abordables <\/strong>et d’augmentation de la densit\u00e9<\/strong>. Ils ont pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 le v\u00e9lo en libre-service comme un int\u00e9r\u00eat<\/strong> public et une extension du transport collectif <\/strong>qui devrait \u00eatre consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme un investissement et un bien public. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Tous ces avantages font du v\u00e9lo en libre-service un outil cl\u00e9 dans la bo\u00eete \u00e0 outils des efforts d’intensification des quartiers qui pourraient aider les Ottaviens \u00e0 moins d\u00e9pendre de leurs v\u00e9hicules de promenade.<\/p>\n
